3.19 Lemurian Sound Technology

Adon shuffled forward as the barbecue lineup moved a little. He was feeling quite unstable, these new sensations and powerful feelings were arousing in ways he was having trouble controlling. Was this some sort of new Lemurian sound technology? Were the Lunies pitching it to the New Empire? That was the only logical conclusion he could summon, he had seen for himself the disaster the Sound Program was, perhaps they had heard? He could see the potential for success, immediately! He paused to take in the scene with awakening eyes; the flowing, sparkling tresses were amazing too, he had never seen such redness. The bouncy curls were fantastic... The skin colors dazzling… Were they perhaps pitching their DNA for the Wig Culture program too?
The only wrench in his business-pitch theory were the pregnant goddesses on stage, surely they knew Atalon wouldn’t go for that, he knew that much already... Or was Atalon reconsidering his factory-bred society? Could this actually be some sort of introduction?
He found himself ogling... It was hard not to stare at the exotic looking Lemurians, so many of them with Products by their side… Was that really it? Atalon was actually reintroducing the Family Unit? Unlike the gods, he liked the idea of families, he saw many potentials for the family based breeding model that were being crushed in the name of conformity. Secretly, he had never been a fan of Atalon's archaic ways... This was good news... Passionate fantasies blossomed forth; perhaps Atalon was finally realizing the potential for himself... Maybe he learned a lesson from the Culloom Disaster…
The line inched forward again. His theory was growing roots with every thought processed, filling him with hope for the New Empire. But there was something not right about the spontaneous event, in spite of his positive conclusions. The truth was, it would be difficult to imagine the Aribu would still believe they were from some barren wasteland called Hellias… Would they voice that? Would they realize it obviously it wasn't the Hellias they knew it to be? Would king Atalon actually let that idea cross their minds? This wasn't just about introducing a new Empire, this was about re-writing history, too!
The Lunies were definitely more attractive than the gens, why was that? If Malodon was perfecting races, wouldn't the gens be more beautiful? As he watched them interact with the aribu from his place in line, he noticed they had more resemblance to some of the gods, too. Why did Malodon change the formula? The Origians were beautiful... So talented... So desirable… He caught a glimpse of the Unicorn through the crowd... The horn was gone?

Halios wandered out onto the balcony with a lunch plate, bland and boring in comparison to the exotic fare being served in the Grand Courtyard, he didn’t like their aromas at all. He noticed Atalon's plate, abandoned nearby; he wasn't eating at all. It wasn't good, there was a storm brewing, he could tell.
"Would you like to try some of Hedena's cheese straws?" He offered his plate, joining him at the rail.
         "Where’s Bell?" Atalon snapped.
Dreading to know himself, Halios scanned the scene below in case it was a rhetorical question. "It's lunch time" he explained, unable to spot him, wondering now if Atalon was having a change of heart. "He’ll be in the Gourmet Chamber. Why?"
"We need all hands on deck. It's time for the Dog Show!"
"The Dog Show?" Halios frowned. "But I thought the Dog Show was for the Opening Ceremonies?"
"It is!" Atalon snapped. "We're OPENING!"
"Now?" Halios couldn't believe what he was hearing... This was way off schedule... He glanced back at the Grand Courtyard… It was so packed...
         "NOW!"
         "YES, YOUR HONOR!"
