3.27 Battle of the Gods

Suddenly, amidst the whistles and cheers there was a loud crash as the drum kit got knocked over, gasps out loud as the god of Death dove off the stage into the crowd below. He landed hard on Torus's back, breaking his hold instantly, knocking both he and Min backwards into the crowd, cushioning their fall.
Min rolled over onto her knees, a hand helped her up and she managed to wiggle away, relatively unscathed as the crowds moved back, in a billow of dust, a battle broke out behind her.
Neter struggled to secure Torus by holding his arms backwards, but Torus flipped him over with his legs and hurled him into the ground, hard. Winded, for a moment he was defeated, Torus was on top, pounding his face as hard as he could, he could feel his flesh tearing from the rings. He fought back as hard as he could, Torus was bigger and stronger than he but he had the Phoenix on his side.

Min managed to squeeze her way out of the crowd. Trembling with fright, bruised but alright she ran straight towards the Lemurian camp.

The gods fought hard, Torus still had the upper hand, he grabbed Neter's hair and smashed his head into the dirt. But Neter learned his trick, pinned his legs around him and twisting hard, knocked Torus back off his balance and was back on top once again. The gods fought a bloody fight like none of the aribu had ever seen before, fueled by decades of hate and distrust, the rage came unleashed. Dust and dirt billowed up into a cloud above the dance floor as they rolled around, each of them desperately trying to wipe each other off the face of the earth.

The Unicorn stomped his hoof and let out a loud snort, just as the music came to a crashing end, mid song. Vikkar looked around, he could see the plume of dust arising from the dance floor… Neter was no longer on stage? Then he spotted Min exploding from the crowd, horribly distraught she ran straight into Mina's arms alerting them to the fight on the dance floor.
"VIKKAR! GET IN THERE!" Mina hollered, horrified by the terrified and damaged state Min was in. Without wasting another second, Vikkar ran into the crowd clutching the sword, pushing his way through the pressing bodies, towards the origins of the dust cloud.

Torus and Neter were still violently interlocked in what was a now a bloody battle, like rabid animals they were rolling around on the ground tearing each other apart, clothing was torn and teeth were out, luckily no weapons were drawn.
Without a hint of hesitation, Vikkar dove in and pulled Torus up from behind and threw him back down, hard.
Torus rolled over and regained his step, fists clenched, ready to strike back. But when he saw the Sword of Lightning drawn, sparking with orbs of supernatural powers and ready to strike, he backed away, spat on the ground, lifted his middle finger and disappeared into the parting crowd.
"Let him go" Neter called out as Vikkar chased after him. "He's scum of the earth, he's not worth it."
Vikkar had to fight so hard to resist, knowing it was true, he had to remind himself what they were really here for. Not this.
"Let's go" Neter dusted himself off, now that the energy had turned bad it was time to go. But just as he turned to go, a shiny object on the ground caught his eye. He stooped down to pick it up, it was a strange little object. He looked around, no one seemed to be looking for it...
He rubbed the dirt off with his finger, it was polished obsidian… A device of some kind... He examined it a little closer, it had a little gold dial that appeared to be functional in some way... A hole... It was some kind of flashlight perhaps? He turned it over, there was an inscription on the side, he had seen this name already...

The abrupt end to the celebration and the ominous plume of dust was very mysterious to those who could not see beyond the crowds or down into the courtyard from above. Few saw what actually happened, no one really knew what started it, the cloud of dust was alarming, everyone was wondering the same thing; Was it part of the show?
"I wonder what's going on?" Dion craned his neck to catch a glimpse of the unfolding scene.
"I don't know…" Mel replied, her neck craned in equal measure. "It looked like the god of Death dove off the stage... It's probably part of their stupid show, hopefully the ending." She turned toward the balcony, Atalon had disappeared, only one of the gods were left, looking over the edge to the grounds below. It looked like Bakkon.
"I've got a bad feeling about this" she knew the king too well. "If it isn't the official ending, it'll be officially ended soon. Atalon's not going to let this show go on. Just watch, I'll bet he shows up here really, really mad."
Dion followed her gaze up toward the balcony, noticing Atalon had abandoned his post. He could see one of the gods leaning over the railing as if something was going on below. It looked like Bakkon was missing something...
"I think you may be right…"
