Eden made her way to the fountain and sat
down on the damp wall, watching the expelled make their way out of the club one
by one. She didn't know where to go now. Medena was furious, Hedena was irate,
she couldn't dare go back down to the courtyard. She glanced down Main St, the
salon was closed. She turned her gaze up the hill toward the Villa; there
really wasn't much choice. She noticed the music had stopped now, was the show over? Main St was still very
unpopulated, so something was still
going on down there...
Thoughts
churned. Reality was, she would never see Neter again unless she went up to the
Villa... Would he in fact come up?
Would she in fact get one more chance to say goodbye? What would he think of her now?
"Hello
Eden" Her thoughts were interrupted by Mika, shivering without her proper
clothes. "Do you mind if I join you? I don't know where to go."
Eden
welcomed companionship at a time like this but a messenger was a Divine
Intervention. "Actually, I need you to run an errand for me. Go down to
the courtyard and tell the god of Death I'll be up at the Villa. You can't miss
him. Flaxen blonde, platinum, down to there" she pointed to her waist.
"Tell him I sent you."
"The god of Death?" Mika's eyes were
wide open now.
"Yes.
Don't look at him!"
"Are
you serious?" Mika sensed a
joke. "Why? What's going on down
there?" She knew something big was going down at the Farewell Celebration,
she had heard the music but no one was telling her anything.
"The
Lunies showed up unannounced" Eden replied. "Now GO! Look for the
Unicorn! It might not have a
horn...."
"Yes
Ma’am!" Mika obliged, somewhat
concerned, she hurried off down the street in the direction of the courtyard.
Eden sighed uncomfortably as Mika hurried off, feeling slightly out of control. She could hear the bellowing inside the club loud and clear as the door opened and closed, it was a relief to be sheltered from the worst. Atalon was alright, even in his wildest rages he had the decency to excuse her. It was another lecture from Medena that she dreaded next, it was the last thing she needed, a most certain fate that awaited her at the Villa...
She
turned her back to the club, hoping the gods would miss her sitting there, now
sitting alone, so vulnerable...
"Hey there Eden!" Seton had spotted her right away, he wasn't going to miss the opportunity to cheer her up, he knew she was having a difficult day. He sat down behind her on the fountain wall and kissed her neck, his soothing voice and warm breath made her feel somewhat at ease, at least he didn't come to lecture her.
But
warm and tender as his kisses were, her thoughts were with Neter, re-hashing
the time they spent together. Perhaps Seton
was the Divine Intervention?
"Why
don't we go down to the courtyard?"
"You
know Atalon's just going to go blow up down there" he replied, caressing
her skin with his lips, his breathing heavy. "Besides, I heard he's not
very happy with you today" he whispered in her ear, nibbling her lobe, his
warm breath seducing her regardless of her Lemurian desires. "He's got
blood on his breath" he warned, "I don't want you to get
hurt..." He ran his finger down her cheek. "Why don’t we go and relax
in the pool."
Eden
thought about it. She might never get another chance to see Neter if she let
herself get wrapped up in one of Seton's seductions.
"I'm
sure you'll get another chance to see him again" he assured, as if reading
her mind. "Come" he stood up, holding out his hand. "I have
a bottle of wine on ice and a full pipe waiting." He leaned in closer to
nibble on her ear again, kissed it softly, giving her a little nip. He could
sense her distance, she was still under hypnosis, he knew what she wanted to
hear. "You know I love you…"
